Dr. Gary Lilly

Executive Director

Dr. Gary Lilly is excited and honored to have been appointed Executive Director of TOSS beginning January 1, 2024. His career in education spans 30 years. Previously, Dr. Lilly served as the superintendent at Collierville Schools, in West Tennessee, for almost five years. His career began on the other side of the state in Bristol Tennessee City Schools, where he served in a number of roles, including teacher, technology director, principal, and superintendent for ten years.

Dr. Lilly earned his bachelor’s degree at Emory & Henry College, in Southwest Virginia, followed by a master’s degree and a Doctor of Education at East Tennessee State University. Prior to becoming Executive Director, he served on the TOSS board both as a Past President and Secretary.

He loves to spend time with his family, which includes wife, Tracy, a veterinarian, his daughter (a special education teacher in Tennessee) and her family, including his first granddaughter Jenny, and his son, Ryan, who is a senior at the Air Force Academy. Hobbies include photography, riding motorcycles, and working on his private pilot’s license.
